: I STILL hope that Roy didn’t blow up the Ishbalites. But this story is based on the fact that he actually did.Note2
: I could swear that I’ve seen the phrase “Wind Alchemist” somewhere and I was sure it stood next to Fury’s name. But I can’t remember a single occasion which could back up this theory. Still, I find the idea very appealing so I decided to turn Fury into an alchemist. Well, almost.
In Love and War
Dark and silent was the night that fell on the town, where the army from Central City resided. The air was stiflingly hot; there wasn’t even the lightest breeze to stir it up. The smell of blood, death and fear hung heavily over the whole settlement.
The locals sensed it too and they hid in their own houses, refusing to even look out on their windows. But the soldiers all suffered from it. It had been the first battle for the most of them; Colonel Mustang got the youngest, most inexperienced soldiers for the mission of hunting Scar down.
The grief and fear were making them strong and the shared feelings were turning them into an effective fighting unit but at what cost?
The Colonel disappeared behind his own room’s door as soon as they got here. Nobody knew, what was he doing but some assumed that he cried.
His personal staff had their rooms close to his. The four guys had to share two rooms; that’s why Fury and Havoc were sitting together now by the light of a single lamp.
The small, black-haired Fury took off his glasses and was sitting on his bed staring into the nothing since about two hours. He wore only his boxers; he had been close to the crowd when the colonel snapped his fingers to unleash the flames of Hell. The explosion smashed a few bodies and Fury got all covered with blood. Huge stains of dark liquid dried on his uniform when they returned; he threw the blue garment off immediately and went to bathe, trying to soak the disgusting smell out of his hair and skin. There was a big fleck on his face and although it disappeared easily, Fury was still rubbing his cheek stubbornly. His skin was deep red by now but the small-framed man didn’t seem to notice.
The tall, blond Havoc sat on the edge of his own bed, trying to mend his uniform coat. It had a few tears on it. But while he was working with the needle, he kept an eye on his companion. He saw the darkening red spot on the pale face and somehow, he knew exactly, how it burns, how it throbs. He sighed.
“Stop scratching your face, it is going to bleed soon.”
“I’m not scratching it,” Fury’s distant, blank voice came and he never stopped.
Havoc carefully tied a knot on the thread, bit it off and put his coat to the side. He stood up, went to the other soldier and gently took his wrist.
“Stop it. I know it hurts.” He pushed the delicate hand down, that it rested on the pale thigh. Fury looked up on him, unreadable flames dancing in his clear black eyes and he snatched his hand away. The blond man backed away a little. Fury’s fist clenched and his other hand grabbed into the sheet.
“I MUST do something!” He hissed; voice laced with despair and anger. “Why do I feel like this? I’ve seen people dying; I even killed once, so why does it feel like this? It’s… crawling in the inside. My skin itches and I just want to jump up and run… Don’t you feel anything like this, Havoc? You’re sitting here being all calm…”
“It’s not as easy for me as you assume. What do you think, why was I struggling with my uniform? I had to divert my thoughts.”
“Same here!” Fury began to rub his cheek again. “The pain helps me not to think on anything else. And maybe if my skin peels off, it’ll stop crawling too.”
Havoc’s light blue eyes flashed and he grabbed the small-framed man’s wrist again, this time harder.
“Stop hurting yourself, that won’t help at all! There is surely an other way to…”
“Suggest one!” The quiet, kind Fury shouted at his comrade angrily. Havoc took a deep breath. So let it be that way…
He grabbed the slim waist, pulled the black-haired man to the very edge of the bed and embraced the pale body tightly. There was a momentary pause, then Havoc felt slender arms encircling his shoulders and Fury leaned on him.
“This wasn’t fair…” the small-framed soldier whimpered on a weak voice.
“All is fair in love and war, haven’t you ever heard that?” Havoc murmured with a small smile.
Fury laughed a little.
“Thank you. I really needed a hug. And we’re indeed in war.”
“Yeah. War. That too.”
Another pause, then the blond man felt his comrade to straighten with a surprised gasp.
“H… Havoc…? You’re not meaning… Right?”
The taller soldier remained silent and motionless.
“Havoc!” Fury tugged on the honey-colored tresses lightly. “Look up at least!”
Blue eyes as clear as summer sky glanced up with a serious look in them.
Fury blushed.
“You… you mean it. But… when and how… and I thought that you… with women…”
“With them too,” Havoc shrugged. “And although it would be nice to say that I’m in love with you since the very day we first met, that’s not true. I guess, it happened, when you brought that dog into the office. It… amazed me, the way you cared for that soaked little puppy; how worried you were for it. That was when I truly noticed you.”
“I… I…” Fury was struggling with the words. “I don’t know what to say… what to feel… This came so out of the blue.”
“Feel free to beat me up if you want to.”
“It’s not that!” Fury objected violently. “Actually it is possible that I’m…”
Havoc blinked.
“What, you’re not sure if you prefer guys or girls?”
“Havoc, I’m just twenty-three, a soldier and a wannabe state alchemist! I haven’t had the time to… get sure.”
Havoc bowed his head and his shoulders began to shake from the silent laughter.
“Hey! It’s not my fault, that I’m shy!” The small-framed soldier punched him in the back.
The blond man looked up again, blue eyes filled with happiness and gentle love.
“Then, would you let me hold you? Just for this one night?”
Fury blushed to a deeper shade and nodded slowly. While Havoc wiggled out of his trousers, the black-haired soldier curled up in the corner of the bed quite resembling a virgin bride on her wedding night. Havoc stopped.
“I’m not going to rape you, you know. If you’re that afraid of me, let’s just forget about it.”
Fury sighed and bowed his head.
“No, no, I’m fine, just… ah… No, forget about it, really, I’m acting like an idiot. I’d…” He looked up and smiled a little. “I’d like to sleep next to you tonight.”
The blonde man nodded and turned off the light. Then, he climbed into his comrade’s bed and pulled the cover over them.
“Havoc…”
“How about calling me John, when we’re alone?”
A light chuckle.
“Okay, John. But my name is Cain then.”
“I like that name.”
“Thank you. And thanks for everything else too. You’re a good friend.”
Havoc didn’t reply but Fury was sure, that he’s grinning.
“John…”
“Yes?”
“Hold me.”
A strong arm sneaked around the pale back and the taller man pulled the small body closer.
“You smell pretty,” he murmured into the short, thick black hair.
“I used up a half bar of soap today.”
“At least, you’re clean.” Havoc placed a tiny kiss on the tip of his comrade’s nose. Fury giggled a little.
“John, would you... please?” And he touched his lips to the taller man’s lightly.
“Are you sure?”
“I’m tying to figure out.”
The blond soldier let out a small sigh then closed the gap between their mouths.
The kiss started lightly, lips brushing against each other; the one still a bit uncertain, the other careful not to be too demanding. But soon, the shy one became more eager and the one holding back lost some of his control. Tongues sneaked out touching the other’s, venturing into foreign places.
Minutes after and a bit out of breath, the soldiers pulled away.
“Did it help you decide?” Havoc asked, sinking his fingers into thick raven hair.
“No, actually,” Fury panted lightly. “But I’m sure that your kiss feels good and I like your hand tangled in my hair. And I’m sure that I want more.”
“You don’t have to rush things. There will be more nights like this.”
“John… We’re in war. It is possible, that there won’t be more nights like this. We can die any day.”
Havoc hissed.
“That wasn’t fair. Now I remembered.”
“All is fair in love and war, haven’t you ever heard that?”
The blonde man snorted in mock disguise and tickled his companion. Fury’s small body twitched and he tried desperately to stop the evil fingers.
“Stop… Stop! John, no!”
“Are you turning my own words against me? Now suffer the consequences!”
However, the torture soon stopped and Havoc leaned on his elbow. He kissed the black-haired man again and began to caress his pale skin. Fury soon threw his arms around the taller soldier’s neck, bowed his head back and his breathing became heavy with desire. The blond one’s hand slowly wandered lower, along the slender neck, down on the smooth chest, the flat abdomen and finally paused between the pale thighs. A loud gasp rewarded him and the hardness twitched under his palm.
The white boxers were removed and dropped on the floor; and Havoc paused a little.
“Cain… You’re beautiful.”
Fury smiled and opened his mouth to say something but his words turned to a strained moan as his comrade’s fingers wrapped around his manhood.
Minutes passed; the moans became louder. Then, there was a muffled cry and it was over.
Havoc quietly cleaned up both of them with a damp towel; fortunately there was a basin with a jug of water in the room. After that, he lay back next to the black-haired man.
Fury turned to him immediately and kissed the blond one.
“Thank you. A few minutes and I can pay you back…”
“No. I don’t need that.” Havoc kissed the smaller soldier’s forehead. “The look on your face when you came - that’s enough for me tonight. Although next time, you won’t get away that easily.”
“Looking forward to it.” Fury nuzzled the taller man’s collarbone and closed his eyes.
Soon, the silence fell again on the room but it was lighter now. Outside, a small breeze began to blow.
The end

Note3
: It was unbelievable, I tell you; this two got so carried away, I had to tell them to stop! Fury wanted to get laid but I don’t support the idea of such a quick encounter. They just got together dammit!Comments, constructive criticysm, death treaths marriage proposals and beta-reader offers are all wellcome. And yeah, I know it's old.
