I love my fandom, I learn languages in it. I've dwelled into French, as a far as expressions/full sentences go before - I should dig up the list I've written up... - and I know a fair bit of German and also English, of course... Even some words in Japanese.
But the latest addition is Italian.
I have a friend who speaks Italian.
This won't be pretty. >3

Date: 2009-02-26 12:26 am (UTC)Btw... *raises hand* Language freak too. You wouldn't believe the number of dictionaries standing on my shelf. They even include a set of Hungarian-Dutch-Hungarian books and Gaelic-English-Gaelic... Oh, and Chinese-English-Chinese, Russian-English-Russian, Greek-English-Greek and Latin-English-Latin. And if I can get my hands on an Oxford Mini-Dictionary Swedish-English-Swedish OR Norwegian-English-Norwegian, it's mine!
But one of the reason I want to continue studying after Japanese is so I can learn Gaelic as well...

Russian is actually nice, too, but Mom speaks it as a second mother tongue. Though, I suppose she'd get a heart attack if I asked her how do you say 'I'm coming!' in Russian.

Date: 2009-02-26 08:13 am (UTC)I do want to learn Russian, Greek, Latin and Gaelic, though. Chinese... maybe. After I spent five months with Chinese girls, the language has become somewhat less attractive to me, though I still have some love for it from Firefly/Serenity. Don't watch it if you want to add another language to your own growing list of languages. XD; Just as a warning. (It'd be great for cursing, though. =D)
I'm not quite sure if I know how to say "I'm coming!" in Japanese, though. Other than the much more innocent version. That's the one drawback of learning business Japanese. Chances that you will use that one sentence in a business conversation is pretty slim. XD
