Elena had only one good look at Reno once the helicopter landed but it was more than enough. It said the redhead was out for a while and there were probably broken bones which took enough time to heal for needing a substitute. Although she didn't let her hopes up she was more than eager to accept the guard duty Tseng assigned. The Turk boss didn't trust the normal security but he trusted Elena. The young blonde woman felt giddy as she headed for the cells behind professor Hojo's laboratory and searched for the occupied one. She knocked the door, politely, to get the attention of the other before saying cheerfully, "Hi!" Tseng never said she couldn't entertain herself and guard duty was boring otherwise.
Aeris tilted her head up and her mako-bright eyes widened a little as she took in the petite form of the blonde girl, covered by the dark Turk uniform. The flower girl felt pity for her. So young, so beautiful and seemingly innocent and Shinra's using her. What tale did they feed her...? Straightening in her seat, Aeris smiled back slightly. "Hello."
"Are you alright? No bleeding wounds and such?" Elena asked through the glass even as she looked up and down the prisoner. She seemed alright aside from a split lip but the young Turk-wannabe knew prisoners tended to hide every weakness. And it would be a shame if this one died of blood-loss before the professor was noticed of her presence. Elena hated to listen to Hojo's whining about his lost specimens, it always made her skin crawl in an unpleasant way.
"No, nothing. Tseng had been really nice with me." Aeris understood the slap, after all, she out-stepped her boundaries as a captive and... Yes, Tseng had a reason to be angry. He had feelings for her, Aeris knew that, but she was unable to return them. Tseng was a Turk. And Zack... was probably dead since then.
"That's good," Elena said and tried to ignore the familiarity how the other girl said her boss' name. She looked at the too large boots, the pink, - out of all colors, Elena frowned a bit, - clothes and at last at the prisoner's face. "What's your name? And do you know why you are here?" She wasn't sure why but the large, green eyes and the open face hinted naiveté, and Elena didn't put it above the prisoner, to not know why the Turks were after her. Not that she intended to tell.
"I'm Aeris. Aeris Gainsborough. And I'm here because the President and Professor Hojo think I know the way to the Promised Land," the flower girl answered politely. It was like a light interrogation. A nice change considering the previous ones.
Elena laughed lightly. The prisoner was willing to share every tidbit of information without any prompts - the Turk trainee had never had such a willing conversation partner, when the other was a prisoner. "And do you?" she asked back, her curiosity tickled. She leant against the door to not step into the cell. It wouldn't have been wise to be that close to Aeris.
The mako-bright eyes rested on her. "No," Aeris said simply. "I have no idea. I can hear the Planet, but she doesn't give me directions. And I believe that the Promised Land is something that everybody has to find him or herself."
Elena's eyes widened a bit at this. 'Hearing the Planet'?! However, the blonde woman stepped through this with a light shrug; sometimes Hojo's specimens went mad and this particular trait seemed harmless. The whole girl seemed harmless in Elena's eyes, and she could almost understand Tseng's and Hojo's fascination with her. Almost. "If that is the case, I've already found my Promised Land, although it'd still take some time to reach it," she said lightly, thinking about Tseng, and being a real Turk.
"Then, maybe they should ask you."
Elena chuckled and shook her head. "I'd only tell them that being a Turk is the alfa and omega for me," she said lightly. "And I'm sure the professor isn't that fond of the Turks so he wouldn't accept the answer but he would look for another source."
"Why do you like to be a Turk so much?" Aeris questioned. "They do nothing but wrong, killing and kidnapping people. That is not right. You're pretty and young and you seem to be a good person. Why would you want to become like them?"
Elena was taken aback. All prisoners were the same in the end; they never quite appreciated the Turks. It just made her more determined to belong with them, to have them as a family after her blood-relatives deceased. "Because it's a good job," she said softly. Her card opened the door and she stepped inside the cell in an impulsive moment. "And I don't think that what I do is wrong."
"Killing people is always wrong!" Aeris insisted intensely, spreading her hands. "Kidnapping them, separating them from their families, that is wrong! Especially when they're innocent! Shinra doesn't tolerate when somebody speaks her mind, even though we have a right to express out thoughts! And besides, Shinra is killing the Planet. They must stop!"
Elena shook her head. The girl was crazy, didn't know what was she talking, but it still felt wrong to listen to her accusations without any reaction. "Calm down! Shinra is a company, Aeris, simply providing the people what they need." Of course, if people wanted to be ruled by, President Shinra was more than happy to provide. "And you can express your thoughts just there are consequences. Like, in an exam. If you cheat and you got caught they fail you."
"It's Shinra, who's cheating. Never speaking about that they suck out the Planet's blood. They are cruel, and they're only using the people. They even killed my mother!" A teardrop came into her eyes and Aeris clenched her fist. She was little when it happened but somehow, she still remembered.
"I'm sorry to hear that," Elena said but didn't reach out. She remembered to her sister, who went MIA as a Turk, and her body was found months later. Elena never asked why she was dead but she promised to become a better Turk than her. "As I assume you're talking about the mako, I have to disagree. Shinra never denied that," she pointed out, somewhat annoyed. Aeris couldn't believe everything those tree-hugging eco-terrorists said...!
"The planet is dieing," Aeris tilted her head up defiantly. "Shinra needs to stop the reactors and find some solution. If not, the worst will happen."
"Shinra needs to find a solution?" Elena asked, shaking her head. She took out her pistol from its holster and twirled it, still smiling. However, inside she was annoyed at her prisoner's blindness. "I'd so love to see one of you, opposers, find the solution. Like, I don't know, as there is no substitute for mako. Stupid girl."
"I'm not the expert to know, what can carry enough energy to substitute mako," Aeris shot back. "You have the scientists. I know the Sun is warm enough to heat up the earth and water has much power as well. I heard there were mines before."
"And what are you doing at night? Or when you're in the desert where water means everything...?" Elena asked and stepped closer to Aeris. "It doesn't really matter. Shinra uses mako as long as people pay for it," she said and held out the gun. It pointed at Aeris' forehead, and Elena smiled. It would have been so easy to pull the trigger...! However, it would have felt wrong. Elena didn't want to disobey her orders.
The large, mako-green eyes wavered but only for a moment. "I'm not afraid of you. Cloud will come for me anyway."
"Cloud?" Elena asked back, and lowered the gun, brushing it against Aeris' neck. "Is he a tree-hugger?"
"He's a SOLDIER!" Aeris said proudly. "He'll free me with our friends."
Elena resisted the urge to laugh. "Soldiers work for Shinra, Aeris," she said and moved her gun lower. "And if he tries to break in, betraying his employee, then he will have a few unpleasant meetings ahead of him. Did you know a stomach-wound can hurt like a bitch and you can stay alive for days even without medical help before you die?"
A shiver ran down on the flower girl's spine. Come on, the blonde Turk couldn't do that... Still, she pulled a bit back. "You can't shoot me. And Cloud isn't with Shinra anymore. He realized that your way is not the right one. It's not too late for you either. If you help us... AVALANCHE will take you in. You could fight for the right thing."
"I can shoot you. Then use a Cure or some Potion or simply wait until Hojo decides to put you together," Elena said in a sweet tone. She pressed the gun a bit harder against Aeris. "You don't understand, do you? I like to help Shinra, as I said already, my dream was to become a Turk. There is no such as a right thing, Aeris, if you mean not killing. You, tree-hugging terrorists do it as well."
"We need to defend ourselves. That's all!" It was hard to argue with a logic like that, since Barett despised Shinra and wanted them all dead. Tifa wasn't above to hit hard either, and Cloud... That Buster sword surely was well-fed with blood.
Elena's smile turned nasty and she moved even lower the pistol, its barrel pressing into Aeris' skin through the dress. "By bombing our reactors?"
Aeris pulled further back, the gun's touch made her shiver. "Nobody was inside..." Fear's frost crept up on her spine. "You won't shoot me," she said on a small voice. No, she couldn't die. She was still needed.
Elena caressed Aeris' face with her free hand. "There were fifteen engineers and mechanicals and alike in. A dozen of guards. I'm sorry, my dear."
The green eyes filled with tears and the brunette pressed her lips together as she tore her head away. She didn't reply.
Elena scowled. "Why are you crying now?" she asked, as her gun pressed against her pelvis. A shot there, if she was careful, wouldn't kill but do irreparable internal damage. Elena let her jealousy well up for one second and she was considering shooting before banishing the thought. She touched Aeris' face again, gently, as if the other woman was a wild animal.
"I'm crying for you, because you're poisoned by Shinra," the brunette said defiantly, and attempted to push the gun away from her body. "Don't do this, please. I'm sure Tseng won't approve if you shot me accidentally."
"It wouldn't be an accident if I shot," Elena said and grabbed Aeris' wrist. She pushed it next to her head and stepped closer, pushing one of her knees between her legs to pin her down entirely. Her hazel eyes caught the teary greens and Elena was lost in them for a brief moment. She could see the grass, the leaves, a few materias and jewels in those eyes and Elena stopped to doubt about Aeris' importance. "You shouldn't worry, I won't kill you." Or shot you, the Turk-trainee added mentally but she still looked fascinated at the fear she created.
Aeris instinctively tried to press her thighs together and a flush spread out on her face as they brushed against the Turk's knee. She was acting like a man would have, really. "Please... get off of me. It's not proper, to behave like this... Like a horny guy!"
Elena blinked at her but didn't move. "Like I would rape a scum like you... Although, you're somewhat pretty," she said, trying to remember a few more lines from Reno. She really just wanted to pin her down, but as Aeris spoke, Elena could feel their breasts pressing together in an entirely not unpleasant way. "As a delicate flower, ready to break."
"I won't break!" Aeris exclaimed. "Tseng couldn't break me, Hojo couldn't break me, you won't accomplish that, either!" She was able to feel the pressure as well, and her blush deepened.
"You're wrong," Elena said and leant in, their lips only an inch apart. "Tseng didn't _want_ to break you. He could without breaking a sweat. Are you still a virgin?" Her right, still holding the gun, was forced next to her knee, pressing up against Aeris' crotch.
With a gasp, Aeris tried to move away. It was embarrassing! "That shouldn't concern you," she told the blonde woman, her blush only intensifying as her mind brought forward memories... Memories of Zack, his strong arms and beautiful body, his smile, his voice, his kisses... The heat of him, the whispered reassuring words, and how it felt to have him inside her body.
Elena chuckled and pressed the gun upward, pushing it against the brunette prisoner's opening through the clothes. "You say 'shouldn't' awfully lots of times," she commented and pressed her lips against Aeris' mouth. It wasn't a full kiss, just simple pressure against the softness before Elena stepped away entirely. She glanced at her gun then back at Aeris. "I'll tell Tseng you like it, when you're helpless and pinned down. Or did my breasts make you wet?"
Aeris sat up instantly, pulling back on her bed until her back hit the wall. Drawing her legs close and wrapping her arms around herself, she looked at the Turk, lips trembling. "You... you're just like them! Cruel and ruthless! All of you are, Turks are all like that, you, Tseng, the redhead! Leave me alone!"
"I'm glad you could see my point," Elena nodded lightly. She wiped her gun clean with a tissue then put it away. "It's such a shame you'll be delivered to Hojo, I enjoyed debating with you."
Aeris tightened her hold on herself and looked away. Her heart was still drumming furiously in her chest and she wanted nothing more than the blonde Turk to leave.
Elena smiled brightly at her, despite not catching Aeris' eyes, and turned around to leave. "Then good day to you!" she added as she opened and closed the door behind herself.
