Uh...Part 1. (Sorry, LJ tells me I'm going over the limit here....)
Right, background for Human!Greed...rather insane how much I've thought about this. (Would welcome some editing suggestions too.)
But first...I noticed that Sloth's on the list, and I assume from the above info that a Trisha Elric resurrection was never attempted, so who's this one? The mysterious manga!Sloth? (Rather hope not, find that version so far kinda boring....) Maybe Sloth!Winry? (Seen that done on the recasted community for FMA....) Actually, I must admit, making Winry a Homunculus is 1) my way of seeing Ed/Winry interactions in a new light and 2) it involves Human!Greed, and it'll be explained below.
Well, I instinctively end up calling Greed's human version Nicholas, so I'd like to call him that...and I just realized I never thought of a last name for him. Oh well, maybe think of that later....
Another instinctive thing: I keep seeing Human!Greed as Ishbalan, so I'll just go with the flow. (If I do make him Ishbalan, perhaps no lastname of his own, per se, if the culture doesn't give one....)
I pretty much thought of taking Winry out of the picture and putting her in Homunculus mode to let Nicholas be Al's auto-mail mechanic...I'm assuming here that he has the same lack of an arm and leg as the original Fullmetal, thus needs the help. I'm thinking the relationship between him and Al just starts as typical business, but then they eventually become good friends, and Nicholas even listens to Al on matters of Scar and provides his own counsel....
Thought it would be interesting to make him a single parent with 2 young daughters to look after--I dunno, considered it a nice parallel of Al and Ed and their Mom from before, and Al, being so observant, would recognize this, and remember, maybe painfully.... Actually, this brings up another question: should I be allowed to write fanfiction around Human!Greed, can I include some sort of family unit? Just the 2 daughters, I promise, and some recollections of their mother...which brings up more questions. ;)
Would it be alright if I did a small crossover with this, just bring a character over from another anime and fuse her with this FMA world, basically pretending she lived there with her own history and background? You see, recently I thought of pairing Greed with the Rurouni Kenshin character Tomoe Yukishiro (Himura), and I thought maybe I could try it here. If you don't know who she is, I can explain her character in another responding post here. (If I were to fuse her in the FMA world, plan to say she's Xing, closest to her original Japanese ancestory I imagine.)
