Sep. 3rd, 2008 07:10 pmI've accidentally found a comic online; it's actually in print, but the authors/artists have a liberal mind. So it's NOT a webcomic.
It's called 'Girl Genius', and it's a steampunk story; more steam than punk, actually. The bw parts looks like French comics, but once it gets a colorist, it's easier to digest. Story's about a girl named Agatha Clay, who kinda fails at life... until she discovers that in fact, she doesn't, she was merely held back by her pendant. People with engineering talent (mayyybe a tiny bit like FMA's alchemy) are called 'Sparks', and the machines they build are referred to as 'clacks'. The story takes place in Europe, I believe in Germany and other countries like England exist, but it seems very alternate.
The storyline is quite moving, many things happen, so it might be a little hard to follow and catch all the details; the only (!) downside of the comic is, that there is an INSANE amount of text to read. The characters, who get more than three lines - there are many of them - are all individuals, there are no boring NPCs or cliché characters. Everybody is awesome.
The story also features several non-human races, like the 'Weissdamen', and the Jaegermonsters - The latter speaks with an insane accent, and despite their looks and general attitude, they're the cutest things in the whole series. XD
