Ratchet's processors apparently registered something unusual, and stirred him out of recharge. The medic shifted a little, rather grumpily - what the heck...? It took him a few kliks to recall, that he was in a war in fact, surrounded by danger, and not even alone.

So not alone, that he could hear the twins. Or, he supposed, he was hearing them, and probably the sounds they made were the reason he came back fully online. Ratchet listened, and suddenly, he recognized the noises.

Soft clicks and whirring were drifting in the air, the sound of metal sliding on metal, the hum of ventilations, an occasional rev of an engine... and a few moans. Not moans of pain, quite on the contrary.

"S-sunny- Oh... Just... a little more, please!"

A series of clicks answered the desperate plea, and the creaking of bodies pressed together. There was a sharp intake of air, and the medic could picture the yellow-armored twin, as he threw his head back, struggling with the sensations coursing through him.

"S-sides, a-ah... can't... It's getting too much...!"

Ratchet shifted again, carefully, quietly, to not disturb the Sparklings. He managed to get a glimpse of them - they were slumped against the wall, limbs tightly entwined, small hands roaming eagerly on the other's uncovered body. The medic smiled. As their Sparks were once one, it was natural, that the brothers loved each other dearly, and started to experiment together. They were so beautiful, faces twisting from the pleasure, bodies shaking, probably only a minute away from exposing their sparks and join them in an ecstatic bonding...

So it was even more surprising that suddenly, Sideswipe tensed with a panicked chirp, and backed away from his brother, whose optics widened and wrenched his hands away. They went still, the air trembling around them from their inner heat, obviously very worked up but quite far from satisfaction. Ratchet blinked in confusion. Why did they stop...? He was about to get up and check on them, when with a long sigh, Sideswipe slumped forward, into his twin's welcoming arms.

"There was a new one... It scared the coolant out of me. Why is it so good, when we can't take it...? It's gonna kill us sometime...!"

Oh, that made sense. Ratchet new, what went wrong: when a Cybertronian experienced physical pleasure, he received warning signs from his body. After all, the overheating, the steadily building excess energy, the minor glitches were failures in the system, and the final surge of the overload could be powerful enough to offline a transformer temporally. Not that the body couldn't take it easily - and in fact, overload often had a slight healing effect, rebooting systems, purging scattered junk data fragments - but it still sent out the warnings. After a time, they were easy to ignore, but like many things, it had to be learned.

The twins were just about of age, Ratchet wondered, to get informed about this. Apparently, their closeness prompted them to touch, it felt nice, one thing followed the other, and they started to discover the possibilities hiding in their bodies earlier than most. But with the city's demise, there was nobody to tell them how it is done properly.

The young medic rose, and stepped to the twins with a smile. They looked up and quickly untangled themselves, as if they had been caught in the middle of some mischief.

"What are you doing, Sparklings?" Ratchet kneeled down, petting the small heads fondly.

"Nothing!" Sunstreaker's answer was immediate, and grumpy. However, Sideswipe poked his arm. "Sunny, he's a medic... Maybe he knows...?"

"I do," Ratchet assured them. "I was watching you for a few seconds, and I know what the problem is. I'll help, don't worry. Come, let's talk this over."

He settled down, drawing the twins closer, so they were sitting on his thighs, Sunny still a bit disgruntled, Sides more eagerly.

"When you touch each other, it feels nice, right?" The brothers nodded. "But it looks as if it would be a bad thing, with all the system warnings."

"It isn't?" Sideswipe chirped in astonishment, and Sunny glanced up.

"Not at all," Ratchet shook his head. "It is perfectly alright to do, even if it looks scary." He quickly explained how things work and it was sparkwarming to see, how the twins relaxed.

"So, how can we ignore it?" Sunstreaker inquired, and Ratchet grinned as he noticed, how hungrily the little yellow mech measured his brother.

"It takes a little time and practice to master. However... I think, you're quite worked up both. You have never achieved overload before, your bodies are surely impatient. I'll access your processors and offline the diagnostics, that you could have some fun."

Sideswipe was not any bit more patient - he promptly leaned his head forward, that the medic could access his dataport. Ratchet wired up with the red twin, gently eased past the weak firewalls, and tuned the warnings down. Then, Sunstreaker's head-crest opened up, and Ratchet did the same to him. He could feel the light tremors wrecking the barely armored body, and the throbbing of the spark.

"Alright, done. Try it now. I suppose you already know where to touch each other."

"Yupp, Sunny can make my processors go all crazy," Sideswipe chuckled, and Sunstreaker grinned with pride. Ratchet considered melting on the spot. "Go ahead, youngsters. I'll give you a few tips, okay?"

"Thank you," the yellow twin said quietly, with a smile, then, he leaned closer, and sticking his glossa out a bit, he promptly kissed his brother. Sideswipe responded in kind, and in a few moments, the twins were shuddering from the sensations caused by the passionate lip-lock.

Ratchet couldn't help but stare, and his own spark gave a throb. The unseen layer of electricity covering a transformer's body thickened at places, which weren't normally exposed to outside forces – curiously, the inside of the mouth was one of those places, and it made kissing a rather pleasurable experience.
