2 drabbles... Let's see if I still know the tags for an lj-cut.
Title: Differences
Rating: PG
Ed stares at the ceiling. The white sheet is soft under his skin and the body next to his is warm.
„There’s one among those homunculi called 'Wrath,'” the small-framed alchemist murmurs.
The soldier next to him listens mutely.
„Actually, you’re 'wrath' too,” Ed turns to his partner and ruffles his hair. The soldier giggles a little and nods. He understands what the young Elric means.
„And yet,” the boy continues, „you’re soft and warm and even willing to do as I say. Your name doesn’t fit you.”
„Don’t ponder about it too much,” Fury smiles and kisses his lover.
Title: "Rage against the dying of the light"
Rating: G
Spoiler: Hints on Ep. 25. Is it still spoiler...?
Note: Umm, about 117 words here. Sorry... ^_^;;
The day was relatively silent, the grief too fresh and blunt to really bother. One single teardrop was all his tribute.
But as the night came, and the sky darkened with heavy clouds, and the whiskey slowly disappeared from the bottle, something began to burn in Mustang.
“Rage, rage against the dying of the light”. Lines of poetry, blurred by red haze, ran through his mind and he smashed the glass to the wall. Thunders rumbled outside and Roy shouted out in blind wrath, challenging them and cursing those, who took away his better half.
After his strength was drained, he collapsed on the floor and wept, because it hurt and he couldn’t do anything about it.
Edit
And, the 100-word version. Laylah's opinion persuaded me to cut this. ^_^

Date: 2005-04-14 09:09 pm (UTC)I love them, and I'm gushing over the last one in particular. I'm never good at getting emotions, especially ones this raw. It's also a feat that you compact it into a short piece, I always admire those writers talented enough to get their point across with so few words. It's surprisingly hard to cut down on words, while remarkably easy to drag them all out.

Date: 2005-04-15 06:37 am (UTC)the first one: not my cup of tea, but is enjoyable. :) (I'm secretly beliving in the 'nomen est omen' thing, so God save us all, if Fury ever gets really-really angry.)
the second: rendered me speechless. Yes, this is my muse. Your muse. Whatever. Wanna hug him to make it better, and I esp. like the "better half" synonime. :)
Congrats again!
PS: shift? what shift button?
